Day 2 one FMQ project done :)

Well I have been FMQ in between visiting with my in-laws. It feels so good to go into the sewing room and quilt for about 5-10 minutes. This little 12” project just needs squaring up and binding put on it.

I don’t know what the next FMQ project will be, I will look and think about that tomorrow after my guest have left and things get back to normal.

Day 2 was more fun...

even if it was very late! I made Amber another bib and a matching burp rag. The fronts are cream floral with a purple back. The FMQ seamed allot easier tonight, however, I was messing around a little with the settings on my sewing machine to see which I liked better. The one I liked the best was when I forgot to but the foot lever down...but that caused issues with the stitching on the backs...which you can see in the photos.

So I think I've decided on a setting of 4 for stitch length and the tension on my thread. We'll see if I stick to this as the challenge progresses.

Before I started stitching on the bib and rag, I did a small sample that ended up with a flower on it.

Sorry about the blurry picture...hope you can still see it.

Happy Easter, Celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord, and see you tomorrow for my 3rd day of FMQing!

Janet's Day 2

Well my day did not turn out quite the same way as I had imagined it would!  I had fully expected to continue to work on my row robin quilt that I started yesterday.  Boring, but needs to be done.  But the sun shone today!  It was beautiful out - actually even warm!  So I had to enjoy the weather for awhile.
Once I came back inside, the sun was still so nice, I decided to do something just for it!  I've had this idea for awhile - ever since I saw this quilt that Emma did.  I thought it was just so neat!  Today was my day to try.  I came up with a sketch (lousy picture)
Pulled out my threads and got started!

Added some metalic holographic sliver for some sparkle!

McTavished the sky

and this is as far as I got today!

Just a little bit left to finish, and then some threads to bury.

Oh I love me a sunny day!
Cheers,
Janet
