FMQ - Feathered Star
Last week I finished my Feathered Star quilt. This is by far my favorite of all my quilts. I made it for my dining table. I am learning to use my Bernina BSR it makes FMQ more enjoyable and less stress on my hands, arms and shoulders. This challenge has been wonderful, thank you Myra!

Colleen/Oz day 9
Only had a bit of time to FMQ today. This piece is a quilt shawl with pockets at each end, for remote control, hand cream, kleenex etc. Size is 22 x 72, the idea came from a McCall's quilting magazine, but I didnt follow block pattern in magazine.
I learned a valuable lesson - it would have been fine without any batting. The chenille and batting were very difficult to FMQ. Broke several needles so I only did a limited amount of quilting. This is for the Festival, I think it would make a nice gift! The block centers were preprinted, so it was quite fast to make. I used a variegated thread.

Colleen/Oz day 5 - 6
I havent had much time to sew but did work on a couple of Mug Cozy's I am making for the fundraiser Festival. The pink with black dots was fun I tried to create a flower pattern by connecting the dots with curves. These are only 3" x 10" finished. The USMC mug cozy I did a mini meander stitch around the emblems, you cant see it from the front side in the pic but can see it on the back. I have made 10 of these so far. They will have velcro for closure. They fit a 10" mug.
Happy FMQ!

Colleen/Oz day 3
Today I finished this project for auction
I hope you can see the leaves, I used a tan to rust to brown variegated thread
On the back you can see the leaves better, I do like the look with variegated thread, kind of now you see it, now you don't.
This is for a Festival fundraiser auction for my Guild. I am so glad to get this project finished, I started FMQ a table topper today, am almost finished will post tomorrow.
Happy FMQ,
Colleen/Oz

Colleen/Oz - Day 1 - FMQ Challenge
Today I began the 14 days of Free Motion Quilting. This quilt is a donation for a fundraiser for my Guild. The large print is a nice linen, I have chosen to outline quilt the flowers in the 9 blocks then echo in the background. I am using a variegated thread in the sashing because I want the quilting to gradually fade away against the lacy looking print. Kind of now you see it, now you don't. I will change to a matching thread for the linen background areas. This pattern was on the cover of American Patchwork and Quilting magazine Dec. 2009.
Happy Quilting!
