1. The trick isn't to move your hands to the speed of your machine. Rather, it's to control the speed of your machine so that your hands can do what they need to do.
2. I think it is easier to go at a slow speed when you are learning, so that you can get used the movements first.
3. Try not to spin the fabric when you are learning, so that you can get used to stitching in every direction (important when you quilt a large quilt).
4. Try to listen to the sound of your machine and you will get used to how fast your hands need to move to keep an even stitch length.
