Help!!

I started on my feathers today. I am having difficulty with control. I can draw them beautifully on paper. Is the smooth line just something that comes with practice? I have done feathers before, but they were smaller and easier to make straight.

My biggest help and resource is the "Heirloom Machine Quilting" book by Harriet Hargrave - it's the 'bible'. Diane Guardynski was a student of hers.

They do get smoother with time and practice. Remember to breathe and relax your shoulders regularly as when you get tight, it is harder to control the quilt sandwich smoothly. If smaller feathers are easier, work on them for a while longer and gradually make them larger. Good luck!
