Raewyn finally under way - Day One

I'm very excited to be a part of this challenge - I am enjoying reading all your posts and seeing what you are up to.
I am VERY new to free motion quilting; I attended a class over a year ago and felt totally out of depth; I had tension problems and just couldn't get into the rhythm. Which is a shame as it is something I really wanted to master!!
Since then I have a new machine and here I am  :-)
Raewyn - Day One
Here is today's effort. As I was stitching I was trying to work out what I was trying to achieve... and I guess it is even stitches and smooth curves?? Is that we are after when we first start out?? The photo actually shows how beginner-ish I am, and I am hoping that there will be a vast improvement as the days go by!!
[I also decided that this little quilt sandwich was way too small, I think I need more room for some sweeping curves!]
Have fun everyone,
Raewyn

I switched to a larger project and had more success - your beginning stitches look really nice!

great start, and you will get better with pratice. What I tell my students when I teach FMQ is to worry about one thing and master that before you go to something else. Like getting the stitches even then worry about tension and then maybe design and so forth. Before you know it you will have it all together.
